library book shows as "missing", won't transfer to Kobo Aura ereader

Hi there, usually I transfer books without issue from Toronto Public Libraries, using Adobe Digital Editions. My latest book won't transfer. It shows on my ereader but when I try to open it it says: "Oops! This document couldn't be opened. This document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management and is not currently authorized for use with your Adobe ID. Please sign-in with the authorized Adobe ID and try again.", I've never had this issue before. I tried to re-download it and re-transfer it a few times, without success.

I have ADE installed on a Windows 8.1 PC. ADE does not recognize my new Samsung Nook. Everything was working OK with my Nook Color but I have been unable to get ADE to recognize the new Nook. The USB seems to be OK and I can display the Samsung folders (including the NOOK folder) – but the NOOK device does not appear on the list of bookshelves in ADE.l I uninstalled and reinstalled ADE 4.0.3 but no change in the problem.

Thank you for the info - however ADE will not allow me to deauthorize - it asks for ID and password and than tells me the password is incorret. I know my password is correct. I'm lost - please help.

With Adobe Digital Editions, I get "E_LIC_LICENSE_SIGN_ERROR" when trying to access PDF files, but not with EPUB files. Any ideas on what is happening and how to fix this?

I've seen this question asked several times, but no answers appear on the forum.
