I think, you downloaded the acsm and tried to fulfill it, and ADE displayed error message ( E _ ADEPT -REQUEST -EXPIRED ).
If this is the case where you could never open the book since it was downloaded, then:
1. Download the acsm again.
2. Click on the new acsm to download the book.

Does this mean there is a problem with the server where the computer is located?
What are acsm files? The ebooks are in PDF format. Do i just have to click the download link again from the website ( which causes the ADE to open up)

Re: delete duplicate books in library
You can delete a book in ADE as:
1. Select the book thumbnail in library view.
2. Right click on book, a menu will appear,
3. Select the suitable option as "Remove from bookshelf " if you need to delete it from bookshelf or "Remove from library" if you want to delete the book from main library.

NO VIDEO PLAYED IN EPUB3
Hello,
I exported a file EPUB3 (fixed size) with InDesign CC.
The file contains videos - MP4 format (H264)
In Adobe Digital Edition, the file opens correctly.
Video playback does not work.
Do you have a solution?

When "E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER" error is thrown?
Ans: When user fulfilled the ACSM file using User1 and again trying to fulfill using User 2. Since the activation information is cached in the ACS, the refulfillment using different user credential will fail.
For example, if you have fulfilled few books already using your old account, you can fulfill the same again using you new account. Even though you have joined the accounts, to refulfil you have to make the corresponding account as default account in ADE to refulfill the book.
In your case, please set your old account as default account to fulfil the books.
How to set the default account?
1) Select Help--> Authorization Information menu item
2) Click Change Default ID button
3) Choose the user who had fulfilled the ACSM earlier.
4) Click Change to make the selected user as Default user.
Hope this solves your problem.

I am on Yosemite and facing the same issue with ADE 4.0:
"Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ACT_NOT_READY"
Tried to deauthorize computer several times and I get :
"Unable to erase authorization. Please try after some time"
Any clues?

1. Yes with an Adobe ID.
2. The error I get on the PC. When I connect the Sony eReader I get a message asking me if I want to authorize it. I choose adobe ID and add my adobe id and password. Then I get that error message on the computer.
I can try to create another adobe id and authorize with it if nothing else works.

New PC with ADE 4 activated with existing adobe ID, all books won't open with Error! Check Activation

I have recently bought a new PC with windows 7 and have installed Adobe Digital Editions v4.0.3
I authorized the computer using my existing adobe ID, the same one used on my old PC that ran windows XP.
I cannot seem to open any ebooks (files with the .acsm extension) or add them to the library. I get this unhelpful little error dialog:
Error! Check Activation.
I have tried to deactivate the computer (in order to retry activation), but that fails too with the error:
Unable to Erase Authorization. Please try after some time.
Please Adobe.... why does nothing work????

Ok so, I finally managed to remove the failed activation and then I reactivated after which I could read the ebook.
I used this method here: I can't de authorize my computer. It just keeps saying to try again later.
to deactivate, and then repeated the activation process.
Adobe, surely many many people have this problem with a new install, and to have to resort to editing the registry in order to fix it is just madness.
Why does the activation fail the first time, and why then does deactivation also fail? PLEASE FIX YOUR PRODUCTS.
