"Bibliothek wird geladen..."

Hallo, habe Windows 7 Home Premium SP 1, versuche verzweifelt Adobe Digital Editions 4.0 oder 3.0 zu installieren. Prinzipelle klappt das auch, aber beim Programmstart erscheint "Bibliothek wird geladen...". Dort hängt sich alles auf. Das Programm startet nicht und der Vorgang ist nur mit einem Neustart des Rechners zu beenden. Kann mir bitte jemand helfen?

Angenfangen hat alles, weil ich Bücher von meiner Version 1.7... nicht mehr auf meinen Kobo übertragen konnte. Bei diversen Hotlines/Chats etc kann man mir nicht mehr helfen. Ich wäre ja schon zufrieden, wenn alles mit meiner Version 1.7 weiter funktinieren würde.....

I am having the same problem. I frequently borrow books from our local library's online web site and I usually get kindle formats but unfortunately some are only available in epub. I ran into this problem with a book I wanted to read tonight. This is the first time I've ever installed ADE on my mac and I'd rather not have to use my work computer for this.

 

I registered my computer with ADE using adobe id and I get the same error message when trying to load the book:

    Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ACT_NOT_READY

 

When trying to deregister it, I get the other error:

     Unable to erase authorization information.  Please try again after some time.

 

I'm not behind a firewall and I have constant internet connection. I've even tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling but I suppose I missed some files because it's still registered when I reinstall. This is terrible. I can't use it at all.

To delete the book,

Go to Documents folder -> Digital Editions.

Your book should be listed there.

 

If it does not work, then you can try to de-activate and then re-activate your user in ADE.

To erase Activation:

Close ADE.

And Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash.

 

Now when you open the ADE, You will no longer be activated and you can authorize again.

Also, For loaned books, once you de-authorize your user, loan token also gets deleted. So I don't think you will be able to open the loaned book again after re-activation.

 

It will be great if you could re-download the book from the library after you activate on ADE as suggested by @shreya above.

Can you reboot your machine and try again?

 

If it still does not solve the problem, please let us know.

It will be great if you could share the exact error message with us.

As I said above,

when I try to erase authorization information, I get the error message Unable to erase authorization information.  Please try again after some time.


so I can't sign out of ADE....

You will require Microsoft .net framework 4.0 to run the ADE on windows.

Please confirm that your machine has the required .net version installed.

On your mac, Press "command-Q". It should kill ADE.

 

Then Navigate to /Users/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash.

It should delete the activation record from mac.

 

Now when you launch ADE, you will no longer be activated.

"Error! Check activation"... What should I do?

I just bought my first epub book from Guilford Press and downloaded ADE for it. However, it won't let me read the book, and only says: "Error! Check activation". What should I do? I am using a regular PC.

Hi Chirag, unfortunately, the books are DRM protected. But, this raises an interesting point because your question lead me to try downloading an Open EPUB eBook (James Joyce Ulysses) from the Ontario Library Service, which worked with no problem and there is no 'fulfilling' message. I did this a few times with different Open EPUB eBooks with no errors. But downloading any EPUB eBook with DRM causes the failure to 'fulfill'. So, this leads me to believe that it's something to do with the DRM.

I tried that.  I uninstalled the adobe and reinstalled it and it is still crashing.  How do I get a hold of someone who actually works at Adobe?

I will try to create a version that I can send Protected and Unprotected. Where should I send it?

 

I will take me probably today to do it.

 

- The .epub before the protection works fine on ADE 4.03.

- When it's protected and I download the ACSM file is that I get the crash.

Thx for your prompt follow-up.

 

Following the MS instructions on "How to: Determine Which .NET Framework

Versions Are Installed" - directly via the register ...(see:

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh925568%28v=vs.110%29.aspx#net_c)

... I checked the matter and came up with the result that you can see in

JPG screenshot 

 

Be all that as it may, perhaps this will give you some sort of indication -

despite that, following appearances, Framework 4 is indeed running on my

little laptop.

 

If you need more technical info, do not hesitate to ask: the situation

baffles me - and I am no greenhorn at computing, being a user since... 1979!

@Treeman49,

 

Glad to hear that some books are working fine on your ADE.

To see if fulfillment has any issue or not, you can check in ADE Library (Documents->Digital Editions folder) that whether file is added or not.

When you download a book, 2 things happen.

1. book is downloaded.

2. ADE(e-reader) tries to open the book.

As per the crashlog you shared, issue seems to be in opening the book.

Can you provide some details :

OS (win/mac)

OS Version

Steps to reproduce the crash.

Does ADE crash when you launch ADE?

Did you try to open any e-book by right clicking and selecting ADE as application?

Hi Barbara,

 

There can be various reasons why you could not de-activate successfully.

Can you try to reboot the machine and try again?

 

If De-activation still does not work, then you can follow the following steps:

 

Kill ADE : On your mac, Press "command-Q"to kill ADE.

Then Navigate to /Users/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash.

It should delete the activation record from mac.

 

Now when you launch ADE, you will no longer be activated.
