Unable to load borrowed (library) books into digital editions.

I have a Mac with OS X 10.10.2 (Yosemite).  I am running Digital Editions 4.0.3.  The same problem also happened on Digital editions 4.0.2.

 

I have signed into Digital editions with my Adobe ID and can see all of my books (I migrated from a PC).  However, I cannot open any new borrowed (library) epub books in digital editons.  The error message I get is Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ACT_NOT_READY

 

I have tried signing out of digital editions.  In the older (4.0.2_ version I was able to do this, sign back in again, but still had the same problem (same error message).  In the newer digital editions when I try to erase authorization information, I get the error message Unable to erase authorization information.  Please try again after some time.

 

I am pretty sure this a mac-only problem as it works perfectly well and I am able to add borrowed books etc on my PC.  I am new to mac so maybe I am missing something obvious....but from reading other things it seems like this is a long-standing issue.  Any help?

I click "Authorize"  and it says "Digital Editions could not connect to the activation server. Please make sure you are connected to the internet." However, I am connected to the internet when I click the authorization button.

I do not know what those stand for. I downloaded ADE to my Windows, if that helps.

You can activate a maximum of six computers and devices. If you reach the limit, contact Customer Serviceto reset your activations. Alternatively, you can erase the authorization of one of your activated computers using ADE 4.0.3 to add one more device to your number of allowed authorizations.

Please select the device, then only those menu items will be enabled. In the screenshot, it appears as your selection is in All Items.

This error indicates a problem with the eBook file. It is not caused by ADE or your computer. Please notify your library of this or contact the distributor.

I downloaded the Adobe Digital editions 4 on my computer and downloaded a book onto that.

Is there a way that I can reload the entire book onto another laptop without getting the error message that the document is already licensed  to another computer?

If you have the acsm file or the download link for your book which is not opening then, you can try below steps:

     - Delete the book from ADE library.

     - Fulfill (Download) the book again.

You have to activate the ADE on your laptop with the same user account.

Then you should be able to re-download the book.

Als ik een jpg foto in bewerkt heb (in elements 13) kan ik de wijziging enkel opslaan als psd of pse, zelfs als ik na de bewerking de verschillende lagen tot één laag heb samengevoegd.

Ik werk in de "expert" moduse

Dear Dominic,

 

Thanks for your latest mail. Unfortunately no change with the new version.

No matter what I do, ADE simply refuses to launch on my XP laptop.

 

- When I double click on it, short activity, then nothing.

- When I drop the e-book on the icon of the program, same shofrt activity

then nothing.

- When I double click on the e-book, the normal Adobe Reader opens, with a

popup asking if I want to lounch ADE. When I click "Yes", activity ensues

and... the ADE page in my browser opens, asking among other things if I

want... to download ADE!!!

 

Needless to say that while all this happens (or rather not happens) I have

properly signed in on the ADE page.

 

And, as a reminder: all of this is not the case on my desktop Windows

7-64 machine, where ADE works without a hitch. Extremely mysterious - until

one will find the answer to the question: what simply stops ADE from

launching on my poor little laptop.

Using Surface Pro 3: No touchscreen functionality on Adobe Digital Editions. Ist touchscreen not suported by Adobe?

I can't delete the book from the ADE library because it won't open in the first place. It works complelelty nor ally on my windows computer so for now I guess I will just have to use that instead of my Mac.

 

not sure why I can't erase my authorization informavion though....

Yesterdey restore password of ADOBE ID but I can't add ebook, with the error adobe id
