Yes, the new password you changed it to is the one you need.
If you've forgotten that, you can go to the Adobe web site and try to log on.
There is be a 'forgotten password' option that will send a reset email to your email address.

Probably ADE only has the option to move to the ereader's own memory.
I'm not sure how the ereader's main memory and sd card show up in your file manager (Windows Explorer, Mac Finder).
Very likely they show up as two different mounted drives.
In that case you can move files between them, or between the computer and either of them, using the file manager.
If not, you could put the SD card into a card reader (if you have an appropriate one) and use the file manager.
There's probably some interface on the Kobo itself for moving them as well.
Make sure the book is not genuinely expired (if a loan).
Double-check the time and timezone settings on both the computer and the Nook.
If neither of those works, try the older but more reliable ADE1.7.2.

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1). Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.
By autorisation PC by Adobe Digital Editions the programm says: cannot connect to server, please take care of an internet connection. But i do have an internet connection.
Why is connections with Adobe server failing?

This is the Reader forum. The Digital Editions one is here:
http://forums.adobe.com/community/adobe_digital_editions
And if you repost there, don't forget to provide full details about your problem. As it is, we don't even know if you are in Mac or Win.
Various possible things.
1) ~~~~~
Your firewall is blocking ADE connections. Double-check the firewall, or run with it (temporarily) turned off.
2) ~~~~~
Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
It may be that the 'cannnot connect to server' is another of these incorrect messages.
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.
In extreme cases on the mac, the following extra step has helped some people. Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash. If you are using 10.7, see Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1265248?tstart=0

Adobe Live Chat: http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html, or as a slight short cut try http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=digital-editions&topic=usi ng-my-product-or-service Click on 'I still need help' and then you should see 'Chat with an Agent' at the bottom of the page. 'Ask our experts' will indeed just lead you back to this forum. Sometimes you will get ‘Sorry! All agents are busy— please check back soon.’ Don’t refresh the page, just hang on and it should eventually go to ‘Chat Now, and agent is available’. They can reset your authorizations, and then you must reauthorize any devices you still need. (Unfortunately, Adobe haven’t got round to an admin website for viewing and editing authorizations.) Some of the representatives haven't been properly trained and don't know what to do (and claim there is nothing they can do); in that case the only way seems to be to give up that chat and try another session hoping for a properly trained representative. If your problem is with another device using Overdrive, Bluefire, Aldiko or similar third party app, it is recommended not to mention that app when on the chat, just mention that you have run out of authorizations (E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS) . Thanks to AJP_Bear for that tip.
ADE no reconoce mi otro dispositivo portatil energy i8 dual
Hi, I tried using the earlier version of Adobe Digital Editions but I didn't see any options to return an e-book early. I re-installed the latest version again. Thanks for information about the Adobe directory. I found the useless files and deleted them. I searched my kobo e-reader but didn't find any files that looked like useless leftovers.
Thank you for your help. I found that I can open a type '.epub' file with ADE but not a type '.acsm' file. I'm trying to download books from my local library to my first edition Nook and the library only offers the following download types: Kindle Book, Overdrive Read, Epub Book, PDF Book, Open Epub Book, Open PDF Book, Overdrive MP3 Audiobook, Disney Online Book.
ADE is silly with opening .acsm files.
You can open them by drag-dropping from explorer or from command line (eg by associating .acsm with ADE),
but not using the standard open command.
Associating .acsm with ADE is usually the easiest once set up, but can be problems, see ~~~ below
The .epub book is what you want, the .acsm is a step on the way towards getting the .epub.
The .acsm is a sort of token file allowing download, and the .epub is the real book (encrypted for DRM books).
~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sometimes the registration of ADE to Windows as the default hander for .acsm and .epub files does not work;
that is what causes the double-click in Explorer to fail;
especially in Windows 8/8.1, and maybe 7;
this appears to be a bug in Windows (for once not a bug in ADE).
Two possible ways round it.
First, try to force it in Explorer
Right-click on a .epub file (and repeat entire sequence for .acsm if necessary)
Select 'open with' if on the list, 'open' if not.
Select 'choose default program'
Select ADE if it is on the list,
If not select 'more options' and navigate to the ADE executable (may be at C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Digital Editions\digitaleditions.exe)
Now .epub/.acsm files should be associated with ADE, and double-clicking should work.
Sometimes, Windows allows you to go through all that, but then refuses to make the association you have asked for.
In that case, the only way I know is to use a third partly file association program.
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Types.shtml works for me.
Usted probablemente tendrá que ejecutar una aplicación adecuada en el dispositivo, tales como lector de Bluefire.
A continuación, copie los libros desde su PC usando el administrador de archivos como el Explorador de Windows o el Finder de Mac
You probably need to run an appropriate app on the device, such as Bluefire reader.
Then copy books from your PC using file manager such as Windows Explorer or Mac Finder
Thanks. I have a Mac and am using Safari. Are the steps the same?
I followed the 'right-click' trick and associated the '.acsm' file with ADE but still got the message 'ERROR GETTING LICENSE. LICENSE SERVER COMMUNICATION PROBLEM. E_ADAPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED.'
when I try to open digital editons through my on-line library it apperars that 2 digital editons are competing with each other this just recently started
the iPhone that i have my document authorized to is broken. Is there anyway to remove the document from this device externaly
Hi, first you should to create a folder, name it, and then drop your book file there.
Is the issue that you want to recover the document, or ... ???
If you have a backup copy of the document it should work on other suitably authorized devices (see below).
If not, you may be able to persuade the seller to let you re-download it.
Depending how the iPhone is broken there may be ways to extract a document;
you would need to ask on an iPhone forum.
Apple has chosen to make up/downloading documents from ios devices awkward even when they are working.
~~~
The document is authorized to your Adobe ID.
You can authorize up to 6 devices at the same time with that ID.
If the iPhone is broken and you exceed the 6 device max,
Adobe can reset all your authorizations and you can redo the ones you need.
Unfortunately, you can't just have the iPad authorization removed.
Can you please give a little more detail about how far things work, which step you are at when it fails, and the messages/symptoms you get?
