Bookmarks, notes and marks after redownload

Hello

 

I have the following questions:

Is it possible to save/back up bookmarks, notes and highlights in Adobe Digital editions?

Is it possible to transfer/synch bookmarks, notes and highlights to another device?

Is it possible to export bookmarks, notes and highlights and make them available in any other form?

 

When i remove a book from my ADE an redownload it, i cannot acces my bookmarks, notes and highlights although the .annot file is still in place (C:Users\Username\Documents\My Digital Editions\Annotations). Is there any way to make this work?

 

Altough registered in ADE, my ebooks are different on Win 10 and Android (bookmarks, notes and highlights are not shared). 

 

ebook format: PDF

ADE version: 4.5.10.185749

System: Win 10 and Android

 

I have tried to find an answer on the internet an in these forums but there seem to be only old and mostly unanswered topics.

I have this issue as well, have purchased a book on hive.co.uk and cannot open it same error message, have contacted Adobe live chat and cannot assist, said he was from billing? any advice please, cannot open on laptop or phone

Adobe-ID - Activate account

Hi

 

I have an old Adobe-ID since many years. I registrated this Adobe-ID by buying an ebook reader. Many Ebooks are linked with this ID.

I have now a new reader with a new app - bluefire.

I should now deposit the Adobe-ID in the reader. But I can't: There is no such Adobe-ID known, says Adobe-Support.

 

Quesitions:

 

1 Can I renew this Adobe-ID? Unfortunately is no emailaccount linked with this ID, so that I can't receive an confirmation email.

 

2  Can I create an new Adobe-ID (made already for registration in this forum) and transfer my ebooks to them?

 

3 Possible to replace the emailadress for this account with the oldone (no mailbox!)

 

4 Possible contact anyone from Adobe to clear all the several Adobe-Ids i've created

"Check authorisation" EVERY TIME I download a DRM book even after deleting Adept registry key

A couple of weeks ago ADE stopped opening DRM-free epub3 books (all epub3 format. Epub2 still opened fine). Cf ADE 4.5.10 won't open ANY epub3 files on Windows 8.1  An ADE support tech told me to delete the Adept registry key and re-authorise. I did that, and epub3 DRM-free books now open fine again.

 

HOWEVER, ever since I deleted the registry key the first time, EVERY SINGLE TIME I try to download a book WITH DRM, I get a "check authorisation" error and have to delete the registry key and re-authorise the pc (using the same account each time).

 

This is getting seriously old, does anyone have a PERMANENT fix for this problem ??

 

Using ADE 4.5.10 on windows 8.1.

Same problem here. MacBook Air 2014, latest operating system, using ADE. Reading PDF books with Digital Rights. Be great to get a resolution on this. Program and book becomes unusable very quick.

ADE, overdrive and cloudLibrary

I have not seen this particular problem here (though I may have missed it). If anyone - especially somone from Adobe or 3M cloudLibrary - knows how to deal with this, I am all eyes. Please bear with me while I recount the story.

 

I bought a Kobo many years ago and installed ADE. Borrowed many books and read them successfully. The ADE upgraded and the autohorisation somehow stopped getting through to Kobo. The workaround that many suggested, and that works, is to downgrade ADE to version 3.0, which I did. All was well for a few years, until about a month ago. One of my libraries has a  QuickRead feature (borrow a book for a week) that requires cloudLibrary. I installed it, borrowed my first book, renewed it (it was 500 pages long, a bit much for a week) and read it. This was 2 weeks ago. Last week I borrowed a book and it would not open in Kobo (authorisation). Of course, as many noted, I could not deauthorise ADE, so I had to edit the registry, remove the appropriate entry, reinstall ADE - and it worked. Finished it and borrowed a QuickRead book yeasterday. CL gives me the dreaded E_ACT_NOT_READY message. I uninstalled it many times, including a very clean install - removed all mentions of Biblotec on the computer, including the registry. Still no go. Thinking ADE is mulfunctioning again, I borrowed  a book to put on the Kobo and it worked like a charm.

 

The problem, therefore, seems to be that CL cannot find the correct authorisation. I have no idea how these things are interrelated and if perhaps removing both ADE and CL and cleanly and reisntalling CL first and ADE second might help.

 

The MAIN problem is that neither ADE nor 3M cloudLibrary (Biblioteca) provide any support and that no documentation with enough detail is available.

I am pretty sure others have similar problems; some have been discussed here many times.

Hi There,

 

This is strange that you need to reset the registry each time you try to download EPub 3 file. Did you tried reinstalling ADE at your end?

 

Is it possible to try creating a new user account in your Win 8.1 machine and login with that user account and check if you get the same issue there as well?

 

This issue could be system specific or user account specific issue as at our end we are able to open EPub3 files without any issues.

Hello,

thanks for your answer. To be clear, my current issue involves *all* epub files with drm, not only epub3 files. The problem with epub3 files was a problem previously (see my other thread) and was resolved by deleting the Adept key, however since I did that for the first time, I can open epub3 files (drm-free) BUT I now have to delete the key and reauthorise every time I try to download a book with DRM.

 

I reinstalled ADE as you suggested (I had reinstalled it a couple of weeks ago and upgraded to the latest version in an attempt to correct the previous issue) and borrowed a book from the library to test it, the problem still persists. I will try to create a different user profile later and see if that helps.

 

This problem started when I upgraded to 4.5.10 and deleted the registry key for the first time, could it be related to this version of ADE?

I was trying to use Adobe Digital Editions for a class that I am taking. When I went to open the book, it says that "the original document is missing." What should I do?

I am trying to install Digital Editions onto my new laptop running Windows 10 PRO but when I try to authorize it it wont accept my id and/or password. I have been trying for hours and with the help of on-line technicians as well but I can't seem to get access to the books I had in my Library.

 

I have tried everything I can think of including all my old passwords. When I finally rang another number I was given I was told I would have to pay $150 for help transferring my files. This sounded really outrageous - is this really Adobe saying this to me - or is it some kind of scam? Please help - I am really confused and don't know what to do next. fail to deauthorize

Hi,

Since I updated my MacBook Pro to Mos Mojave 10.14.5 I do have a problem downloading my ebooks to adobe digital edition 4.5. It states E_ACT_NOT_READY. I found in another forum that I need to deauthorize ADE. However, then I need to enter a password which I do not know anymore and is different from that of Adobe in general. I also fail to delete (the hidden) file of ADE regarding the authorization. What can I do??

Sync Content Across Devices?

I'm trying to use DE on my Windows laptop, Android phone and Android Tablet to read borrowed library books, as Adobe software is all it will allow me to use. I can load my books to my computer fine enough, but despite all devices being authorised under my account...the contents of my library isn't shared across them. The books on my laptop aren't available on my phone or tablet. No matter what I do.

 

To make matters worse, when I try re-download the book onto my phone or tablet from the library's website, clicking on the ACSM file will automatically boot into the app...but then refuse to actually show or load the book. So I'm at a loss. I just want to be able to resume my reading regardless of which of my devices I have nearest me.

I deleted activation.dat file to reauthorize the comp and I did it but now none of the ebooks work: Unable to open ....The original file is missing. What can I do now?

Can you confirm the the books you borrowed are DRM-enabled books?

I have the same problem E_ACT_TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS.

 

Since the chat support only tells me to find the solution here I ask for help with this issue too.
