That doesn't help. I've already downloaded it. How do I install it from there? When I click on it, it just opens the constituent parts. Usually after something downloads, it asks to be installed, but this one does not.

just bought an ebook that only opens with digital editions. Find it pretty useless on a surface tablet, and very disappointed. Can open normal pdf files on the reader and swipe to turn pages, zoom with finger motions, and read in portrait mode like a book.
With this program, can only turn pages by the tiny scroll bar on the side or with a keyboard (which means I have to view a book in landscape mode), make clicks with the mouse to zoom only to predetermined sizes. Awkward and pretty much useless for reading anything.
Suggest adobe add digital rights management to their free reader - its a usefull product. this one is a dinosaur.

kobo ereader does not appear as connected device
I want to copy ebooks from ADE on my Laptop to a kobo glo but the kobo is not listed as a device when activating ADE after connecting kobo to laptop?

I try to read an ebook through my library login for which I must access to OneClickDigital. I created my Adobe Id byt it gives me this error message when I try to open the book : "We are unable to identify you as a patron. hi all. this is my first post. im having the same problems with my brand new kobo glo.if i download a library book i can read it on the computer i can trans fair it to kobo but the kobo wont open it the message reads that the device is not authorized. i have tried resetting the kobo, i have uninstalled the kobo app off the computer and started again i have tried two older versions of ADR the only thing i have noticed is that the adobe id,s ( the bit in brackets ) isn't the same for the computer and the kobo. one starts urn ( u r n ) the other starts um ( u m ) I think this may be the problem but i don't know how to correct it as the adobe id in brackets is created by program on the computer. i hope someone can resolve this as i only bought the kobo so that i can read library books. thanks Andrea

adobe digital error on laptop
had adobe digital editions on pc and worked great. now trying to get it working with my kobo on laptop but it wont transfer to kobo. error message says that my computer is authorized without an ID and then I can only open book on laptop...not on kobo. Help plz?????

This book has been returned. Loan not on record
I've used Adobe Dig Ed on a Windows XP computer for years with no problems. I recently switched over to Windows 8.1, and reinstalled Adobe DE, and went through the authorization step for the computer. Then I downloaded two books from the library, and read them with no problems. However, the next time I tried I ran into problems. I am able to download the books to Adobe DE. I can open the books in Adobe DE (but it would be tough to read in ADE on the computer, because of no formating). I can copy the books to my nook, the same way I always have, and they show up in my nook. But when I try to open in Nook, I get "Error dialog - This book has been returned. Loan not on record".
I turned off Virus protection and tried again, with same results.
Any help?

Valid Adobe ID.
Valid authorization according to Adobe Digital Editions.
Get error message when trying to open any file.
Removed authoriztion.
Reinstalled authorization.
Same result.

Anyone having trouble contacting Chat in Australia?
I have been trying for two days to contact Chat in Australia - they are never available, despite saying they are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Anyone else having this problem? I've been having problems opening new e-books for weeks and cannot solve it without their support.

I am also getting this error and have been since December 25, 2014. I de-authorized my computer as suggested by staff members and other forum posts, since I couldn't get my library books to load to my newly purchased Nook. Now, I can't get my ADE to authorize my computer at all since I'm getting the server connection error. "Connection Error. Digital Editions could not connect to the activation server. Please make sure you are connected to the internet." I know it's not an error with my Adobe ID or my internet, since I can post on this forum right now. This problem is getting really frustrating!! Please, Adobe, help us out!!!

Some books are DRM protected but others aren't. What can I do?
Some books are DRM protected but others aren't. I have tried deauthorising and reauthorising Sony reader, PC and ADE as well as hard resets to factory settings and reinstalling Reader software. Nothing works. I have tried for hours over 3 days to contact Chat but the link doesn't seem to work at all or when it does, they are not available. My Sony doesn't appear on the ADE page either. It now thinks some books have been authorised to another account, which they haven't. Because I have had to re-download books so often, it is saying that 2 have been imported by another user (no, it's me!!!). I can't even open these on the desktop now. The one that is still DRM protected can be opened on the desktop. None of this makes any sense, especially since every time I turn my Reader and try to sync my books, something else weird happens, like a book I have already read suddenly can't be opened when nearly all the others can and I can't download it again because it's already been imported. Try it another day and it works. Help!!!

How do I view my ebooks on a second computer?
Both computers have been activated with my ID and all books were purchased after activation, but my books are not appearing on the second computer. Any ideas on how to view my ebooks on the second computer? Thanks!

I wish it was that easy!
I bought my Mum a Sony, cos i couldn't subject her to Kobo - but exactly the same issue. Now I have a KOBO, and she has a Sony, neither of which will sync with Adobe to download Library books
The answer would be to find an alternative to Adobe DE - has anyone had any success in ditching this awful software?

I installed the Digital Editions reader on my PC, and downloaded all my eBooks there. I have installed the version for Samsung Galaxy 5s on my phone, but can't figure how to connect the two
I thought that having this app on both PC and phone would let me share content but can't figure out how to access what's on my PC.

Adobe Digital Edition - Connection Error
On Adobe Digital Editions when my students try to activate their PC computer they are receiving a Connection Error.
We have uninstalled the software, restarted the computer and then re-installed the software same error message.
The students are running XP Professional on their PC.
Any help would be appreciated!
