Re: Authorizing problem in ADE

Installing it was no problem, but doubleclicking the .acsm file in the Reader gave an error message: the download failed.

I then bought another book, with an .acsm file and managed to download the actual file both with the Sony Reader and with ADE!

So it may have been the particular file itself after all, although the store denies it. Perhaps this book was not meant to be read by me, very advanced digital protection as you suggested. I stop here and will get a refund for the book.

Thanks again for your help!

Another possible way is to install the Sony Reader software

https://ebookstore.sony.com/download/

That is designed to be used with Sony eReader devices, but I think it will work fine anyway.

Not a particularly good bit of software, but I seem to remember hearing of a case where ADE always hung in the process of downloading a .epub file from a .acsm but the Sony reader would succeed in the same task.

Try: if it works you should be able to get it onto the Kobo.
