Between your patience and my persistence this should work in the end..
1. I've got the initial .acsm file.
2. I can't use it to download the DRM epub file.
2a If I try to download the epub through the bookstore interface, when connecting to the website ebook.lightningstore.com the error message I mentioned pops up (the E_ADEPT_INTERNAL one).
2b If I doubleclick the .acsm file on my laptop in the Windows explorer, ADE opens and starts the downloading process of the epub file, quoting the book title, but then the download process stalls, the same way as the authorisation process stalled earlier.
Maybe another but slightly different proxy/connectivity settings issue?
This is the only failing book.
I have not bought any other DRM books yet and for obvious reasons am currently not planning to. Could've physically bought and read more than one paper book already in this time.
The bookstore will not provide me with a replacement copy of the .acsm file because it is not corrupt according to their information.

Just checking for clarification how far you got down the process ...
Have you been unable to download even the initial .acsm file?
Did you download the .acsm, but now cannot use it to download a DRM .epub file?
Or have you even got a .epub file, but it refuses to open/read it?
Is it just the one book that is failing, or are new DRM books (bought/library) failing to work with ADE and the Kobo as well?
