If your Nook is the HD or HD+, you no longer need to download on the
computer. You should have Google play & can get the apps to download ebooks
from your public library free, with no need to mess around with connecting
to a computer. If using Freading though, I suggest using the Nook reader
over the Freading app to read. I am most successful downloading with
Freading but reading in reader. I tried Overdrive and see lines getting cut
off. The Freading app doesn't let you change from a white background or
font size enough.
I did get ADE to work but it was sporadic, when the upgrade happened I've
been reading lots on my Nook. I use my entire Token allotment with
Freading. Plus a new Beta service, Hoopla, is great on the Nook HD+.
Currently only available to 10 library systems, it has movies audiobooks
and music. In fact all the new downloadables from public libraries that
weren't supposed to work on Nook but do on Android work great.
Basically, Barnes & Noble did a root for you. This happened over Mother's
Day weekend. For me it was the best gift ever. I now love my Nook HD+. Its
better than my husband's iPad.
